Anyone out there?
Maria A Perdomo
Is the silence enough
for all the voices we lost?
Is the darkness enough
for all the pain we caused?
Is the willing life enough
to fight this awful war?
‘Cause no one sees
beyond their borders.
‘Cause no one cares
if it’s not their problem.
‘Cause no one helps
if it’s not their brother.
Is there anyone out there
that can save us from this hollowness?
Is there anyone out there
that can rescue us from this emptiness?
Is there anyone out there
that can take us from this loneliness?
‘Cause we lost who we are,
we lost our unique spark.
‘Cause we’re now living
a joyless and pointless life.
‘Cause we didn’t fight
against this tragic plastic end.
Are you strong enough
to go against the throne?
Are you smart enough
to know when to go?
Are you wise enough
to know when to lose the war?
‘Cause someday you’ll know
when to let go and go on.
‘Cause someday you’ll shine
against all the storms.
‘Cause someday you’ll smile
against every dark remark.
‘Cause someday you’ll find
someone real living out there.
