The Grey
Maria A Perdomo
The world was made in black and white,
the good and the bad separated in parts,
until one day the colours started to mash.
White got flickers of black down the line,
black got goblets of white in the back,
grey appeared on the picture’s sides.
People were nice or bad company,
friends or enemies divided on screen,
right and left hands disjointed bodies,
no communications between them,
what was expected from every end,
until the grey mixed the end game.
Grey slowly but surely got everywhere,
streets were drowned in its colour depth,
different tones of grey on the pathway,
friends were enemies at the same moment, lovers were haters in the flick of a wave,
the colour was hated by each person's head.
Grey, leave this world,
and don’t come back again…
But I know you will forever stay.
